Ronaldo joined the other young players of Sporting Clube de Portugal and managed to become the only player to have played in Sporting Under-16, Under-17, Under-18, B, and in the first team, all within one season Ronaldo scored twice for Sporting Clube de Portugal on his debut for the first team against Moreirense. Ronaldo was approached first by Arsenal, but manager Arsene Wenger, however, did not agree with the direction of Sporting Clube de Portugal. However, he called the attention of Sir Alex Ferguson manager of Manchester United in the summer of 2003, when Sporting Clube de Portugal defeated Manchester United 3-1 in the inauguration of the Alvalade XXI stadium in Lisbon. Ronaldo's performance impressed even the Manchester United players, who on the flight back to England, asked Sir Alex Ferguson to hire to replace David Beckham (currently in the U.S.), who had moved to Real Madrid. It was the last game with ronaldo sporting shirt.

After much speculation, the Real Madrid reached an agreement with Manchester United for the transfer of the then world's best player in 2009, announced by the amount of 94 million euros at June 11, 2009. So far the highest amount paid for a football player. Spain fans in Madrid received this news as a bomb, the best player in the world  living in Madrid. But in england not all well accepted this change of Ronaldo. When Ronaldo moved to Real, Raul held the shirt number 7. Ronaldo had to wear a shirt number 9, CR9.
 In the first year Ronaldo won easily a lot of  supporters of Real Madrid. Great games, great goals and plenty of magic. In the Spanish League Ronaldo hold a fight with another great player Leonel Messi. Whenever these two get together in the field the magic is infinite.
