Born in Rio Cuarto , Córdoba , Pablo Aimar began his football career in  Club Atlético River Plate. In 1997-98 Pablo joined for the first team. In River Aimar , played with Saviola , el conejo. 
Many argentines still await the return of El MAGO.

Valencia

Valencia  of Spain signed Aimar in January 2001, at a price of €24 million.

 The purchase proved justified, as Aimar helped lead the team to a first-place finish in La Liga  in 2001-2002. In Spain Aimar will always be marked by his magic on the field . Probably he was the best player that played in Valencia on the mid. Scored a lot of goals in the Spanish league and in Europe. Unfortunately a lot of injuries had marked his career in Valencia taking him some space in the team .

Zaragoza

During the summer of 2006, Aimar joined fellow top flight club Real Zaragoza for €12 million.

In Zaragoza Aimar will be remembered by his injuries . Appeared in 22 games , without any goal . Roberto Ayala ,teamed up with Aimar in this campaign.

 SPORT LISBOA BENFICA

On 17 July 2008 , by the hand of Rui Costa , after a period of intense negotiations, Aimar signed a four-year contract with Portuguese side S L Benfica for a fee of €6.5 million.

 After a difficult first half of the season, he managed to overcome his constant injuries and finished it in good shape. Quique Flores never managed obtain the maximum performance of Aimar.

In  the next year(2009-2010), with Jorge Jesus in the place of Quique Flores ,  Aimar was in better physical conditions, and displayed a good offensive chemistry with countryman , Javier Saviola (played together in River) , newly signed, with benfica shirt had the best offensive record of the competition, eventually winning the league after a five-year wait. Aimar said that he never seen fans like benfica fans. Today Aimar had earned the love of the benfica fans being a reference of the club.
